ISLANDERS are being asked to nominate young people for a chance to carry the Olympic Torch in a relay next year.
The Coca-Cola torch tour is in Guernsey to find inspirational youngsters to carry the torch for its ‘Future Flames’ campaign. The relay is visiting just three islands on its tour of Britain – Guernsey, Jersey and Orkney.
Brand marketing manager JJ Gallagher was in Market Square yesterday with information on the event and a torch from 2006.
‘Three local judges will pick the people to carry the torch in Guernsey,’ he said.
To make a nomination, forms are available from Beau Sejour reception or Cycle World. The closing date is 5 September.
