Saturday 20th August 2011, 2:29PM BST.
SUE WELLFAIR shot the best gross round of the day, just as she had done on Wednesday, to top the scratch standings in the Garenne Women’s Senior Island Championship yesterday at L’Ancresse.
The winner carded 80 for a 36-hole total of 158 and a three-shot victory over runner-up and playing partner Kay Mapley, who added a second round 81 to her opening 80.
Catherine Besant produced an outstanding net 67 to finish top of the handicap leaderboard with a two-round aggregate of 144, pipping Gill Burford on countback.
