Filling the nursery niche

FULL-TIME pre-school care is vital to allow mothers to go back to work, a new nursery owner has said.

Little Learners Day Nursery co-owner Sue Savident thinks that while it can be risky to start a new business in the current climate, the fact that so many families are struggling to find somewhere for their children to go means they can gain a strong hold in the market.

‘I think any business has to think twice at the moment but we did all our market research and we knew it was difficult to find child minders and after-school clubs,’ she said.

‘There is a demand for it because there are not that many full-time places. It’s very important to help mums go back to work.
