Savident has the last laugh as ORs reach final

THE biggest prize in Channel Islands club cricket is now just one win away for ORs.
Last season’s CI League runners-up reached the 2011 final with victory over Farmers-Caesareans in a dramatic, low-scoring semi-final on Saturday at the KGV.
Having found themselves reduced to 32 for six after Lee Savident won the toss and elected to bat, the only Guernsey team in the last four would have been forgiven for thinking their chances were slim at best.
But a fine innings from Tom Kirk helped them to what proved a defendable total of 131 before the bowlers did the rest.
