Swimming Club celebrates its 125 years with Vallette gala

HUNDREDS of people crowded La Vallette Bathing Pools on Saturday night to mark the 125th anniversary of the Guernsey Swimming Club.

The evening started with two hours of races, with competitors ranging from six to 83 years old.

A film about the history of the club was screened and then a torchlight procession was held around the pool.

Club president Jo Norman was pleased with the turnout.
