Aircraft registry could exceed expectations

Rob Le PageA NEW aircraft registry could raise even more money than the States has predicted, the chairman of the Guernsey Aero Club has said.

The Commerce and Employment Department put forward the proposal in the latest Billet d’Etat – currently local planes are usually registered in the UK or the Isle of Man.

Rob Le Page (pictured) said the registry would be a great opportunity for the island.

‘The predicted £18m. [revenue over the first three years] is very conservative,’ he said.
