A GRIEVING Latvian family are appealing for money so that they can take their daughter’s body home.
Donations collected at a church service on Sunday in memory of 24-year-old Liga Verse will go towards repatriating her to Eastern Europe.
Local Latvian Association president Lilita Kruze said the family needed help.
‘We’ve been asked by Guernsey Police to see if we can raise funds for the family to take her body back to Latvia,’ she said. It can cost thousands of pounds to move a body across Europe.
Miss Verse was found dead in a Bordage flat on Saturday under suspicious circumstances.
