WORLD darts stars Wayne Mardle and Kevin Painter proved a hit with the ICG centre crowd, although numbers were not as good as the organisers had hoped for.
‘I thought the atmosphere was fantastic, although I was disappointed with the numbers,’ said event organiser Karen Solway. ‘Those who came had a fantastic time.’
More than a hundred witnessed a cracking night’s darts with Mardle proving to be the comedian of the two. With knowledge of the venue’s day-by-day activities, he arrived on stage wearing a cricket helmet and holding a bat.
Sixteen locals got to play the stars, eight by way of a qualification process, two by auction and six by raffle.
