Killer coke seized in Guernsey

A POTENTIALLY lethal toxic chemical has been found in cocaine recently seized in Guernsey.
In recent years the chemical, levamisole, has often been added to cocaine by drug dealers to add bulk and maximise profits.
‘Some people abroad who have taken cocaine containing levamisole have developed a life-threatening condition called agranulocytosis, which lowers white blood cell count and has led to death through infection,’ said Bailiwick director of public health Dr Stephen Bridgman (pictured).
‘Anyone who takes cocaine is putting themselves at extra risk of life-threatening problems with a toxic chemical that can damage their immunity, in addition to the existing risks of stroke and heart attack.’

How is Guernsey meant to attract top entrepreneurs, investment bankers, yachtsmen and sporting stars with such poor quality product on the island? If this continues long term it could easily lead to the collapse of the open market. Why hasn’t the states done anything?
