STEALING the Town Church silver-plated cross was a misguided prank on the part of Liga Verse Father John Luff said yesterday as he prepared to hold a memorial service to honour her life.

He said the church had forgiven her crime, which saw the mother-of-one serve a month in prison three years ago.

‘The thing about forgiveness is that you forget remembrance [of the act] altogether,’ Father Luff said.

‘It was a misguided prank – young people are high-spirited. God’s forgiveness is unconditional.

The service starts at 6.30pm at the Town Church on Sunday. It will last for around 30 to 45 minutes.
