VALE Earth Fair ticket sales went well despite many music lovers attending the Guernsey Festival of Music and Performing Arts earlier in the summer.

Rob Roussel, who organises the Earth Fair with a collective of 20, said tickets had been selling strongly.

‘I think the Vale Earth Fair stands on its own reputation and sales have been going really well.’

He said he was delighted to have reformed band Senser along to headline, saying that bringing the band to the island was ‘a bit of a coup’.

‘Senser have been fantastic and have been really excited about coming over to play. They are really glad to be here.’

Numerous arrests for pulic order offences, inclulding a knife offence at Beach Party Petit Bot organised by the same man, goes on to be credited for giving to charity as a Tax break, whilst in the same paper a licensee gets fined £1000 when off duty for a minor assault, tune in or drop out….

    Toni Bandinee,

I think what you have written above is disgusting and completly out of order. The event is organised by a group of people dedicated to bringing music and culture to the island. And for you to say that we are giving our profits away as a “tax break” is wrong. Our events are held because we are raising money for these charity’s thats the whole point of these events. We are not money grabbing theifs looking to make a quick buck!!! We also have put measures in place to ensure that incidents like the ones mentioned above do not happen but unfortunatley, as with most events there are one or two that spoil it for the rest of us. I think you should think about what you say in future rather than just complaining about any event that includes large numbers of people, music and alcohol and i am very sure that when you were younger you did the same thing…. Drink and Party. Grow up! And stop trying to spoil it for the rest of us!

I think you’ll find Mr Bandinee a.k.a. Roy Gueno (see education thread – identical avatar) is a WUM. I wouldn’t take much notice of anything he says. You’re right in what you say though. Although I haven’t been for a few years I know the VEF collective are a good hearted, committed bunch.
