FOR someone who once posted 154mph on two wheels for a 9.78 quarter-mile sprint along Vazon, Darren Warwick is not fazed by taking risks in search of fast times.
And yesterday on the Val des Terres hill he lowered the racing cars 1601 to 200cc class record not once, but twice, to come away with a brilliant FTD.
His 28.97 on his second timed run stripped the best part of a second off Englishman Paul Haines’ three-year-old record, but in the dying embers of the day’s racing Warwick went even faster, stripping another four-hundredths off the mark.
‘I didn’t expect two [records] today, but the idea was to do a 28 at some point,’ said the man who gave the ‘National’ men a run for their money last month.
