Teenage kicks
Saturday 10th September 2011, 2:30PM BST.
TEENAGERS Joe Alvarez and Tom de la Mare have been added to the Guernsey FC squad to face CB Hounslow United this afternoon.
The 17-year-old pair are based in the UK training at the Football CV Academy, with coach Tony Vance calling them up after the withdrawal through a knee injury of Glyn Dyer.
As well as that, a third youngster is set to be signed up by the Green Lions, namely 16-year-old Rhys Jordan, who recently represented New Zealand in the Fifa Under-17 World Cup.
Due to international clearance, he was not able to register in time for this afternoon’s match in the UK, but Vance is delighted that he now has a quartet of teenagers at his disposal, with James Hamon already signed on.
