THERE was Pomp and Circumstance and plenty of people for Proms on the Pier 2011 on Saturday.
The Albert Pier was linked to the Royal Albert Hall via a 27sq.m TV screen for an evening of music that culminated with a fireworks display at 10.40pm.
Proms on the Pier was first held in 2005 when it evolved from the former Guernsey Sea Regatta.
Founder and managing director of organisers, Guernsey Event Company, Alex Bridle, said the Proms transcended all generations and the weather had been very kind.
