Decision is needed on housing airport workers, says landlady

Denise Bishop at the Manor Hotel.A DECISION on airport workers’ accommodation must be made soon or there may be no room available in local lodging houses, one accommodation leaseholder has warned.

Denise and Geoff Bishop took on the lease for the Manor Lodging House, near Petit Bot, in 2010.

Mrs Bishop (pictured) said they had believed their business, with 54 bedrooms, would be suited to housing some of the 150 workers who would be doing the airport runway work.

But with work on the airport due to start early next year, the issue of accommodating staff has not been settled.
