Finishing touches begin at the hospice with £1.7m. still to find

WITH an October target for completion, around 35 workmen were busy decorating, carpeting and doing the plumbing and electrics at Les Bourgs yesterday.
R. G. Falla site manager Ian Carre (pictured) said the development had had its challenges, particularly because of the curvature of the building, but they were now working towards a finish line.
‘We’re testing mechanisms inside and externally we’re working in the main entrance car park.
‘The back driveway is all done – we need to start on the front drive and we’ve got a lot of guys outside doing stone paving areas and glass canopies,’ he said.

Voice for Victims is a campaign aimed at promoting the rights of those affected by child sexual abuse.
As a keen supporter of the hospice, a couple of things in the article are bothering me.
Who is funding the £1.7 million shortfall until such time as the fundraisng is complete?
How much could have been saved off the total build cost if the curvature of the building, lovely though it looks, had been replaced with straight lines?
