Food trade disputes that ‘cheaper in Jersey’ report

FOOD retailers have dismissed a report that claims local prices are higher than in Jersey – where there is a goods and services tax.
The annual Jersey comparison of consumer prices found that products ranging from cauliflower to sausages were dearer in Guernsey.
But local businesses have questioned the reliability of the study.
Alliance managing director Andrew Bagot (pictured) said its prices were cheaper than most examples given for Guernsey items.

Certainly sausage is more expensive at the Forest Stores than Benest of Millbrook but for Mrs Gueno quality counts, only quality meat will pass her lips.Generally I think things are cheaper in Jersey even with GST the Buses are bigger too, Bargain.
