GUERNSEY’S finance sector has a positive message to spread because of the way its different elements work together, according to Peter Niven, chief executive of the industry’s promotional agency.

Speaking at Guernsey Finance’s annual update to stakeholders, Mr Niven told the audience of the agency’s plans for 2012 as well as the work it has carried out in 2011.

In total, Guernsey Finance will have attended 27 events across the world as a third party in 2011 and has hosted five of its own.

Mr Niven (pictured) said he was able to deliver a positive message to potential clients in other jurisdictions as a result of the expertise found locally in areas such as banking, insurance, trust, fund administration and the legal sector, but also because of the relationships built up between different parts of the economy.
