NEW animal welfare legislation is likely to come into force by early next year.
Officials from the GSPCA met staff from Commerce and Employment yesterday to talk about the law.
Final drafts are in the process of being completed.
GSPCA manager Steve Byrne, welfare manager Lorna Prince and president Jayne Le Cras attended the meeting and were very happy with the developments.
‘We all left the meeting feeling extremely upbeat and very excited for the future of animals in Guernsey,’ said Mr Byrne (pictured).
