Work with us to save more, says MSG chairman

GIVING more responsibility to the Medical Specialist Group could help reduce health spending, its chairman said yesterday.
Consultant geriatrician Dr Steve Evans (pictured) was guest speaker at the Guernsey Chamber of Commerce’s September lunch at the OGH Hotel.
He said a more seamless process of services could be obtained if the MSG and the Health and Social Services Department worked more closely together.
The cost of specialist care in Guernsey was more expensive than in the UK, he said, but it came down to economies of scale.
