A FAMILY accused of conning an elderly and nearly-blind woman out of more than £250,000 settled out of court yesterday moments before a civil trial action against them was due to start.

The action against Elizabeth and Raymond Hollingsworth and son Timothy was brought by the estate of Dorothy Peters, who died in April last year aged 99.

A family member of the beneficiaries said he was glad that the matter had concluded.

‘I’ve no bitterness now – that’s long gone,’ he said.
