Ogier eyes world record

MARTYN OGIER has set his windsurfing ambitions high – to break the world speed record.
He got close to the record of 47.76 knots during competition and his first attempt at West Kirby, Merseyside, yielded a speed of 45.77 knots.
‘With a broader angle to the wind you could add 10 to 15% on top of that speed,’ the big Guernseyman reckoned.
For Ogier, the record was not previously an ambition as he was more committed to competing in events.
