Demore eyeing a GB vest

GAGE DEMORE has been left frustrated by the likely cancellation of his fight scheduled for tonight.

The Sarnian (pictured) was due to represent the Western Counties against Joe Pigford of the Southern Counties in Southampton, but Demore has been told his opponent has pulled out and a replacement is yet to be found.

‘Apparently his coaches don’t feel like he is ready,’ Demore said. ‘It’s heartbreaking because it feels like I’ve worked so hard doing all my training for nothing.’

Regarding the rest of his career, Demore has opted not to turn professional for the time being as he concentrates on getting as far as he can in at amateur level.
