JERSEY outfit Grouville had too much for Sylvans at St Peter’s as they overcame the Sarnian side 3-0 in the Jeremie Cup quarter-finals.
The Westerners succumbed to three first-half goals against a well-organised side who were good value for their win. Sylvans’ Ashley Williams by far the busier of the two goalkeepers.
Sylvans’ Brad Le Sauvage was dismissed for a second bookable offence in a bad-tempered second half that left both sides infuriated with some of the decisions by referee Geoff Ogier.
It was actually Shaun Staples’ side that had the first chance of the game, Kris Moherndl getting on to Euan Melrose’s flick and shooting straight at Grouville goalkeeper Garry Lloyd inside five minutes.
