AN APPLICATION to replace Longue Rue House and Maison Maritaine with two extra-care housing developments has been submitted for planning approval.

If the plan is given the go-ahead, phase one at the Vale and St Martin’s sites can begin.

This would see 66 new flats built at Longue Rue House and 50 at Maison Maritaine along with communal facilities, which include a restaurant, lounge, hobbies room, hairdresser, therapy room and assisted bathing.

Proposals for Maison Maritaine also contain a day centre for people living in the community with dementia, giving their relatives and carers some respite.
