Specsavers opts for on-island training

THE private sector is being encouraged to help shape the GTA University Centre’s prospectus.

Following the Frontier Economics report on upskilling Guernsey’s workforce, published last year, the training provider has been working even closer with businesses.

Proof of that comes with its launch of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants qualification in conjunction with Specsavers.

The optical giant had the option to train staff at its dedicated training facilities in Nottingham, however with the benefits which on-island training can bring, such as less time spent out of the office and no travel and accommodation costs, Specsavers approached the GTA to consider a Guernsey-based solution.
