Bels 4, North 3 (after extra-time)
SIMON MARLEY was Bels’ hero last night as his stunning free-kick dumped North out of the Jeremie Cup in a thrilling see-saw battle at the Track.
Having trailed both at 2-1 and 3-2, the home side left it late with Joby Bourgaize sending the tie to extra-time with a strike in the fifth minute of stoppage time, before Marley’s intervention in the 99th minute.
His 20-yard effort across Tom Creed and in off the underside of the bar capped a brilliant night for the midfielder, who scored another beauty in normal time in a superb man-of-the-match performance.
And in a game that swung one way and the next, it was Bels who kicked things off with a sixth-minute goal courtesy of Carl Wallbridge.
