Marathon challenge gets tougher

Stuart HardieBOGGY conditions, blistered feet and bad directions saw Stuart Hardie fall 10 miles short in the latest leg of his 40 marathons in 40 days challenge.

The 65-year-old (pictured), who is raising money for Wooden Spoon, Hope for Guernsey and the Priaulx Premature Baby Foundation, said he was disappointed that after setting off from his start point near Invergarry he was only 16 miles closer to Land’s End.

‘The day started with a steep downhill section, which caused havoc with my sore feet and also gave me a quad injury,’ he said.

‘Our off-road route was almost impossible to negotiate as it was so boggy.
