GUERNSEY capped off a successful weekend on the softball diamond by defeating Jersey 19-11 to regain the inter-insular title at Beau Sejour.

After losing out in three of the four Muratti and Upton trophies on offer last year, the Sarnians gained revenge by reversing that record, adding both Uptons to that inter-insular success.

The ‘A’ inter-insular was the culmination of the weekend’s action and it was the home island who hit blistering batting form in the match’s second innings, scoring seven thanks to three-bag hits from Hannah Coutu, Ben Corson and Dale Martel.

That was in response to three points scored by Caeserean Dan D’Aliveira, but, that aside, Guernsey gave very little away and led 10-4 by the fourth innings.
