Rugby World Cup is gala dinner theme

Those attending a gala dinner for the Only Fools and Donkeys charity, which had been selected by a readers’ poll in the Guernsey Press, were asked to show support for one of the teams in the Rugby World Cup. THE Rugby World Cup was the theme of a gala charity dinner attended by 140 people at The OGH Hotel last night.

The Only Fools and Donkeys charity topped a readers poll run in the Guernsey Press to put on the event sponsored by The OGH.

Each of the 14 tables carried the name of a country competing in the Rugby World Cup in New Zealand. Guests were told of their table’s country in advance and invited to wear patriotic colours at the black tie event,

Organisers added the detail. Fans for the women and long false moustaches for the men on the Japan table, for instance.
