A GRANDMOTHER has been left homeless by a blaze at her flat and has been relying on the goodwill of friends.
Marina Baker, 62, had lived in the top-floor bedsit on Mount Durand for a year, until Monday of last week when her home was struck by fire.
‘I was devastated, just devastated,’ she said. ‘It was my little home.’
The blaze broke out at about 5.30pm in the room where Miss Baker sleeps.
She had been in the flat an hour before, dropping off her shopping. She then popped to the Plough pub with a friend.

You could say that or you could say.
If I hadn’t gone up the Plough my flat may not have been gutted by fire.
