Neighbours do not have a good word for data park junction
Wednesday 12th October 2011, 2:29PM BST.
UNHAPPY residents have voiced their opinions about the new junction in Route Militaire and believe it will cause traffic problems.
The newly completed junction, which forms the entrance to the Guernsey Data Park, includes a set of traffic lights which will not be in use for another two years, but residents are not happy with the outcome so far.
‘I think it is hideous. I am really not happy and think it will just make traffic worse – it is hard enough getting out of the drive anyway,’ said Doyle Clos resident Jenny, who did not want to give her surname.
‘We received a letter through our doors explaining there would be disruption but we were not given anything detailed – and I know a lot of the residents here are not happy.’

Voice For Victims
Voice for Victims is a campaign aimed at promoting the rights of those affected by child sexual abuse.
I live near Delancy Park and on a Saturday you may as well give up going anywhere near Bridge/Route Millitaire/Braye Road/Vale Rec area as it is just completely loaded with cars.
Who on earth in their right mind thought putting THREE sets of traffic lights on the same length of road needs their head examined. STUPID STUPID
Plus the school at Baubigny…… insanity putting it where they have.
What REALLY annoys me is on the radio the other day someone who lives up near the airport was moaning at the concrete plant that has to be built near the airport – her words were “why can’t it be built in the North”. It’s not as if we don’t have our fair share of industry!

the tarmacs a funny colour, the lights go red when their supposed to be green, it rains to much and when the suns out its too hot.

Pepe you are so right, when I lived in Guernsey over 40 years ago the streets were paved with gold until the States ripped them all up and laid that funny coloured tarmac. That’s why I came to Australia.

Ha ha, spot on Pepe.
There are alot of Guernsey people who have nothing better then to moan, and most of the time its unwarrented, where was the best place to put the school jeff ?
And too Jenny in the Vale, you live in what is a built up area, always been Industrial from Bridge to Town, just get on with something useful and realise progress in this sort of thing will give jobs to the people and help our island to grow.

Will these traffic lights be operational 7 days a week? If no one is working at the data park on the weekend then they should be programmed to stay green. Don’t get me started on the traffic problems in this area and the bridge, its been a joke for years.

The developer for this park is well known for building housing developments.
All along it has been felt houses will be built on the site. Now the fulfilment industry is going down the pan a plea from the developer that a business park is no longer viable.
As for a data park I cannot see why it would be cheaper to have one in Guernsey than anywhere else in the World? Forgive me, but what are the benefits of a tax efficient location for this type of business?
Watch this space. A lot can happen in two years, especially when the developer sees larger profits in the form of houses on the horizon.
