STUDENTS from La Mare de Carteret High School took part in Big Kids Day, with Year 7 students selling a range of items they had made during their study week.

Masks, cakes, pasties, games and toys were just some of the items on sale.

Teaching assistant Mandy Easden explained that the Year 7 students had worked in groups to make the products.

‘They chose what to make and went through the process of consultation and decided how they would sell the products and raise the money.

‘The students wanted the money to stay in the island and they may know people the charity [Help a Guernsey Child] has helped.’
