Christmas Lottery tickets go on sale today.

The first prize starts at £300,000 and will increase as more tickets are sold.

There will also be a £50,000 second prize, a £25,000 third prize, as well as 45 prizes of £500.

Guernsey’s share of the inter-island charity lottery is distributed by the Association of Guernsey Charities.

Last year’s Channel Islands Christmas Lottery broke all records with the first prize eventually reaching £750,000.

It’s about time this Lottery was ditched for the National & Euromillions, and if they still want to carry on cap the top prize to 500,000 then have the extra money in 5000 & 1000 pound prizes so more people will benefit, the prizes have just diminished over the years, ie. 2 & 3 digit end No’s etc.etc.

I’m sure most people would rather spend a quid or two on a National lottery/Euromillion ticket than a bloney scratch card, and when/if you win a quid you just keep buying another scratch card until you don’t.

I will be voting for Frank of the Home Office, classy Red Tinsel so much better than the already overdone comedy Santa Hat and red nose.
