THE Peugeot 205 of Chris Torode and Olly Duquemin was Guernsey’s best performing car at the 2011 Jersey Rally.

With navigator Duquemin making his rally bow, it was a fine effort by car No. 29 to finish second in class and 18th overall of the 50 finishers.

The only other Sarnians to complete the event, which benefited from great weather, good stages and excellent organisation, were the cars of John Le Cheminant and John Robert.

Le Cheminant, who had Phil Ferbrache alongside him in his Escort, and John Robert and son Gary, were 48th and 50th respectively.
