Men’s triple shock the classy Irish

IT WAS worth waiting for.
Having notched up their first win over the Netherlands on Tuesday evening, Guernsey trio Garry Collins, Gary Pitschou and Matt Le Ber were firing on all cylinders in the Atlantic bowls championships in Cyprus yesterday.
After dropping the first four shots, Le Ber’s men turned the tables on a strong Irish team – Mark McPeak, Graham McKee and Martin McHugh – and stormed to a resounding 20-8 victory.
A beaming Le Ber (pictured) said: ‘Our fate is in our own hands now – if we can win our next two group games we will qualify for the knockout stage and if we play like we did today, we stand a great chance.’
