THE tragic death of British racing driver Dan Wheldon will be subtly mourned by Andy Priaulx this weekend in Australia.
The weekend ahead for Priaulx and all the competitors in the Armor All Gold Coast 600 event around the streets of Surfers Paradise will be very emotional after the tragic loss of Wheldon, who was due to be racing in the V8 Supercars event before being killed in a spectacular crash in Las Vegas on Sunday.
However, Priaulx and fellow British Racing Drivers’ Club members Oliver Gavin, Marino Franchitti and Richard Westbrook are determined to pay tribute to their friend.
‘We were all devastated when we heard the news on Monday in Australia and immediately felt we should do something special,’ said Priaulx.
