Peace has broken out after education email

Wednesday 26th October 2011, 2:29PM BST.

Carol SteereTHE Education Minister yesterday described as ‘old news’ an email in which she questioned whether she should still have confidence in the chief minister after he announced a review of her department.

In an email to a civil servant, sent just hours after the review was announced, Carol Steere said Deputy Lyndon Trott had been ‘discourteous’ and that the release of the statement was ‘most inappropriate’.

But Deputy Steere (pictured) said it is now water under the bridge.

‘I and my colleagues at Policy Council have moved on. I continue to work constructively at the Policy Council table and have no intention of making any further statement on this matter.’

Deputy Trott said people should not dwell on what was said in the ‘heat of the moment’ and that the Policy Council was working together on the issue.

Water under the Bridge? I don’t think so – rather a case of two ‘has beens’ in sore need of a credibility by-pass and embarrassed by a spat leak.

Not sure if it was deliberate Sam but that’s a delicious double-entendre!

Anyone for Smoke and Mirrors diversionary tactics? This is a purely “cover your six” Steere strategy.

I also think this is bluster to cover up the fact that “incompetence rulez K.O”…..
