MBE is ‘well deserved for selfless coxswain’

LIFEBOAT coxswain Anthony ‘Buz’ White received an MBE for his services to maritime charities from Prince Charles at Buckingham Palace yesterday.
He was one of five Bailiwick residents to be recognised in this summer’s Queen’s Birthday Honours list, but was presented with his medal yesterday.
Harbour master and lifeboat operations manager Captain Peter Gill said Mr White was worthy of the honour.
‘It is quite a personal challenge [being coxswain] because the work is often done under extreme pressure,’ he said.
