A FULL house for a jubilee film’s premier was the culmination of months of hard work for local filmmakers.

Guernsey Celebre: Our Queen’s Diamond Jubilee showcased the island’s celebrations to mark 60 years of the Queen’s rule.

Guernsey Film Makers spent ‘hundreds of hours’ filming and editing the 40-minute documentary.

President Jenny Duncan was excited to show the finished product to a group of invited guests at the Frossard Theatre.

‘The club has always tried to record local events to be documented and the Diamond Jubilee was no exception.

‘Nicholas Drake really took the idea and ran with it – it’s really fantastic,’ she said.

The DVD includes both the Guernsey Celebre and Serq Celebre as two separate documentaries.

Club secretary and filmmaker Jo Mahy was solely responsible for editing the Serq Celebre.

  • Guernsey Celebre: The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, by Guernsey Film Makers, is for sale for £10 from www.guernseyfilmmakers.org, Waitrose stores, South Side Barbers and the Press Shop. Proceeds will be distributed between Guernsey Alzheimer’s Association, Help for Heroes and Professor Charles Saint Medical Trust, a Sark charity.
