Saturday 23rd March 2013, 9:30AM GMT.
YOUNG children’s pronunciation of Guernsey French has been exceptional this year, according to adjudicator Pierre Tostevin.
Mr Tostevin was marking all entrants in the Guernsey French section of the Eisteddfod.
He believed the local language classes were particularly special.
‘It has gone very well indeed,’ said Mr Tostevin.
‘This is a lovely part of the Eisteddfod because it brings us back to our roots – it’s all about the traditional Guernsey way of living.
‘The standard has been extremely good, particularly among the children.
‘Children are speaking very good Guernsey French.’
