Arts festival is putting island on music map
Tuesday 17th May 2011, 2:29PM BST.
NATIONAL media coverage of the Guernsey Festival of Performing Arts will do wonders for the event and the island, its organiser has said.
Jon Stephen (pictured) said he was delighted with the level of UK interest in the festival that has been listed in the Telegraph’s top 100 British festivals and would be appearing in the Guardian festival guide.
‘It’s great for raising the profile of the island and that’s what we are trying to achieve from this festival,’ he said.
‘We’ve also got some big publications coming to review the festival such as Clash magazine.
‘Currently NME is the biggest reference website onto our website so they are potentially looking to come over as well.’
