TENTS for the Guernsey Festival of Performing Arts have started going up.

Jon Stephen, who is organising next weekend’s event with his twin brother Paul, is looking forward to it. ‘I’m nervous, but very excited,’ he said. ‘Everyone involved is. Our main hosts are Wes Butters and Janice Long and Janice gave Primal Scream their big break. She is very excited and can’t believe that we’ve got them for the Guernsey Festival.’

It’s not just the organisers who are looking forward to the festival – security crews are battling to get a space on the team.

‘They are currently down at the Take That shows and are fighting to do this festival. No one wants to do Wembley as they do it week in, week out,’ Mr Stephen said.
