A CARELESS driver who was dazzled by the sun caused a wheelchair user to suffer serious injuries which contributed to her death.

Fiona Beverley Laband, 55, was found guilty of driving without due care and attention at Alderney’s court following a two-and-a-half hour trial.

She was fined £500 and banned from driving for six months.

Laband, who works as a cook at the Connaught Care Home, said she had not seen Millicent Williams and her carer Susan Phillips as she had been blinded by the sun while driving her blue Vauxhall Corsa.
