CHEFS from Guernsey and Jersey are battling it out on national television to see who is top of the Channel Island cooking table.
Auberge head chef Daniel Green will be up against Atlantic Hotel chef Mark Jordan on the ITV series Britain’s Best Dish, which starts on Monday.
The show features professional chefs in the ‘ultimate cooking challenge’ and is presented by Mary Nightingale with Michelin-starred chef John Burton Race, wine expert Jilly Goolden and restaurateur Ed Baines as judges.
Mr Green’s peach tarte tartin with lemongrass ice-cream and a sesame seed, salt and chilli praline, made with fresh Guernsey cream and milk, will be up against Mr Jordan’s mille-feuille of cider-poached apples with Jersey black butter ice-cream.
