A SRI LANKAN man who lost his legs after being hit by a train has got a long and happy life ahead of him, Bridge 2 Sri Lanka founder Sarah Griffith said.
Rasika Sampath, 25, was fitted with his first set of prosthetic limbs in 2009, thanks to fund-raising efforts by Ms Griffith.
The Guernsey Press has been following his story since he lost his legs in 2006.
But when he became mobile, Mr Sampath lost a lot of weight and the resin sockets on his prosthetic limbs were too big for him and painful to wear.
He then had to start phase two of his journey and get new sockets, Ms Griffith said.
