A PAIR of slippers was presented to marathon man Stuart Hardie as he arrived back in Guernsey last night.
Despite having completed 39 marathons in 40 days running from John O’Groats to Lands End, he will return to his job as a surveyor today and his training will also start again.
The 65-year-old was pleased to be back in Guernsey.
‘I am looking forward to returning to a level of normality,’ he said.
‘There is only so many nights you want to spend in a Premier Inn. The rooms were super and big, but they were not home. It feels great to be back.’

Congratulations Stuart – I’d forgotten you were a Marathon Man; hope the slippers are comfortable!
Many years gone by since I was in Guernsey; ghost from the past; was Sally’s secretary at SC on Les Banques before the big break-up.
Hope all is well with you both.
Please remember me to Sally; I really should get in touch some time.
