SKY Sports drew a record crowd of 1,752 to Footes Lane for Guernsey FC’s 2-0 win over Feltham on Saturday – but its camera missed the first goal.
Soccer Saturday, Sky Sport’s flagship football show, covered the game for a feature to be shown on the programme next Saturday.
GFC president and Soccer Saturday pundit Matt Le Tissier was present at his first Green Lions home match.
‘It’s a brilliant turnout,’ he said. ‘Obviously Sky being here might have persuaded a few more people to come down. I’ve heard from my brother Mark all about the stir it’s caused and he updates me with scores when I am on Soccer Saturday.’
‘I try and give GFC a mention whenever I can, but the idea for the game to be covered came before Sky knew I was president – a lot of interest has been generated by the fact it is the first Channel Island club to join a UK league.’
