THOUSANDS of islanders turned out for this year’s annual Guernsey Round Table Christmas fayre yesterday.

The event was the biggest yet with 46 charities hosting stalls.

Last year, the fayre raised £15,000 and Round Table member and organiser Roy Bisson hoped yesterday’s festivities would top that.

‘It’s going very well indeed,’ he said.

‘We had to rent twice as much space this year and we have had so many stalls that we needed to bring extra tables in because Beau Sejour didn’t have enough.
