GUERNSEY’S Beavers celebrated their 25th anniversary with a party on Saturday.

About 120 boys and girls played games, had their faces painted and took part in other activities followed by a party tea and balloon release.

The Beavers also presented cheques for £850 to charities Help a Guernsey Child and Action for Children.

Bailiwick Scout commissioner Julie Bulpitt said the island’s Scout groups raised £2,500 through the centenary charity walk and the decision was made to split it with two worthy causes.
